Always the Perfect Starry Night

For a little more than the cost of a movie, you can book a romantic hour for two under the stars, in a warm, cloudless room. I'm speaking of course about the planetarium on 60th and Dodge. They have public shows almost every weekend for only $5 per person; but the best kept secret of this hidden gem is the private showings that are available for only $75.

Cold and cloudy, Humid and Buggy - heck it doesn't even have to be night. Whether you want to see the stars as they are above Omaha, halfway across the world, or over the Atlantic Sea on the frigid night of April 14th 1912 - you can. You can even go a lot further and travel the solar system, visit a specific star or planet, or even watch the majestic spinning of galaxies far far away. I met the ladies that run the planetarium and they showed me just some of the many different shows they offer, and trust me when I tell you that they have something for absolutely everyone. They even have an underwater show I'm told.

To learn more about their public shows or to reserve a private showing, visit their page right here on LivingOmaha.net

Side note: I was able to get a couple of good shots inside the planetarium but it's really not all that camera friendly given the darkness. Anyways Julie Ann Photography was nice enough to share the picture in this article with us. If you're interested in getting engagement photos done inside the planetarium, she actually has the experience of this challenging venue, and her other photos from this shoot turned out really awesome too.
